Call back

A short call, and what it can settle: most of the questions people put to us in writing are answered in a quarter of an hour on the telephone.

Choose a day and a time, give us a number with its dialling code, and we will ring you. There is no charge for the call and no obligation attached to it, and you will not be passed from one desk to another once the line connects.

  • We ring you, wherever the number sits
  • English or German, whichever suits
  • Weekdays, 8am to 6pm Central European Time
  • You pick the slot, we keep to it

Pick a time that suits you

Name the day and the hour and the line is yours — no queue, no hold music. A sentence about the subject is enough for us to have the right papers open when we ring.

Settle the name first

If the company name is still open, we will search Companies House before we speak. That way the call starts from a name that is actually available rather than one that only looks free.

Rather put it in writing

Some matters read better than they speak, particularly where dates, numbers and filing references are involved. Send them across and we will work through them before any call.

Four things a short call usually settles

These four come up week after week. Each of them takes minutes to talk through and pages to write down, which is why we would rather ring you.

  • Ltd or LLPA private limited company and a limited liability partnership are taxed differently, publish different figures and suit different sorts of owner. Two questions about who is joining you and how profits are to be shared will point to one of them.
  • What a registered office has to doIt is not simply an address on the notepaper. Post from Companies House and HMRC has to arrive there and be acknowledged, which is why an address that nobody attends causes trouble later. We explain what we provide and what we do not.
  • How long registration takesAn incorporation is usually a matter of a working day or so once the paperwork is right. What stretches the timetable is identity verification, a name that needs approval, or a bank that wants documents nobody has yet ordered.
  • An existing company with filings overdueLate accounts, a missing confirmation statement or a strike-off notice on the doormat. Say so on the call: the order in which these are dealt with matters, and the first step is rarely the one people expect.

Before we call

None of this is required, and nothing is refused for want of it. But a call goes further when these are at hand.

  • The company number, if there is oneEight digits on any filing or on the register entry. With it we can look at the public record while we talk instead of guessing at it.
  • Who else is involvedHow many people will hold shares, and whether any of them sit outside the United Kingdom. This shapes the answer more than the trade does.
  • Where the work will actually be doneThe country you trade from, not the country of registration. It decides which questions belong to us and which belong to an accountant.
  • Your deadlineA contract, a tender or a bank appointment with a date on it. If something has to be in place by a given day, tell us at the start and not at the end.

How it works

Fill in the form

Day, time, number with dialling code, and the language you would rather use. A minute at most.

You get a confirmation

An e-mail repeating what you entered. If the slot no longer works, reply to it and we will move the call.

We ring

At the hour you named. If nobody picks up we try once more the same day before we give the slot back.

Afterwards

Where it helps, we put the outcome and the costs in writing. Nothing is set in motion unless you ask for it.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a charge for the call?

None. We dial your number, so the cost of the line is ours, and nothing is invoiced for the conversation itself.

Will you ring at the time I asked for?

That is the intention, and it holds on most days. Where a call overruns you may hear from us a few minutes later than planned.

Our lines are staffed on weekdays between 8am and 6pm Central European Time, which is an hour ahead of the United Kingdom. A slot chosen for 9am here reaches you at 8am.

Who will actually be on the line?

One of the people who handles these matters day to day, with your entries in front of them. We do not use an outside call centre, and nobody will read you a script.

Can you ring a number outside the United Kingdom?

Yes. Give the number in full with its country code and it makes no difference to us whether it rings in Manchester, Dublin, Zurich or Dubai.

Do bear the clock in mind when you choose the slot: the times offered on the form are Central European Time, not your local time.

I need longer than a quarter of an hour.

Then say so in the box asking what you would like to discuss, and we will set aside a proper appointment rather than a short slot. You can also ask for one at the start of the call.

If you would rather arrange it in writing first, use the enquiry form and mention how much time you think you need.

Are calls recorded?

No. Nothing is recorded and nothing is transcribed; we take notes by hand and keep only what the matter requires.

What you enter on the form is used to prepare and place the call. The newsletter box is yours to tick or leave alone.

Ask us to ring — or write instead

If a call is the quicker route, the form above takes a minute. If your question needs documents attached to it, the enquiry form is the better door.
