What do we need to register new officers in England?

To register new directors, company secretaries or shareholders, we require:

• Completed personal details form: We will provide you with this form, which must be completed in full and signed. Download personal details form
• Proof of identity: A certified copy of your passport or identity card (the certification must be up to date).
• Proof of address (original documents, no older than 3 months):
• Confirmation of residence
• A utility bill (e.g. electricity, gas, water, landline telephone; mobile phone bills are not accepted).
• An official letter from a bank or public authority (e.g. bank statement, tax assessment notice).

As an alternative to the registration certificate, an original *utility bill no older than 3 months is also accepted.

An *utility bill is, for example:

1. e.g. an electricity, gas or landline telephone bill, a bill from the municipal utilities, or a bank statement. The person’s name and residential address must be clearly stated on the document.

If a legal entity is to be registered as a shareholder, we require:

• A current extract from the commercial register for the company in question.
• Proof of identity for the beneficial owners holding more than a 25 per cent stake (see above).

These documents are required to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
