What do we need to register new officers in Ireland?
To register new individuals in Ireland as directors, secretaries or shareholders, we require you to complete the following personal details form.
Download personal details form
In order to comply with the provisions of the Money Laundering Act, we must carry out a detailed verification of your identity (KYC – Know Your Customer) as well as a risk assessment. These requirements apply to all shareholders, directors and the company secretary, and are intended to ensure the complete documentation and verification of the identity of all parties involved.
The following documents are also required:
1. Certified copy of passport or identity card – the original must not be more than 3 months old.
Alternatively: You can send us a selfie in which you are holding your passport or identity card in such a way that both your face and the personal details on the photo page of the document are clearly visible.
2. Proof of address: Please provide two separate pieces of proof of your address, both of which must be no older than 3 months.
This can take the form of:
- A utility bill (e.g. electricity, water, gas, landline telephone, or a bill from a public authority; please note that mobile phone bills are not accepted) on which your full name and address are clearly stated.
- A letter from a bank or bank statements are also accepted as proof of address. (You may black out the figures)
These documents are required for all parties involved and help to ensure that our compliance requirements are met in full.
If, for example, a company is registered as a shareholder, we also require an extract from the commercial register for that company. And for each beneficial owner of the company holding more than 25%, the same documents as listed above for individuals.
If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact us.
The following are NOT accepted as proof of address:
- Utility bills that are more than three months old
- Mobile phone or internet bills
- Tenancy agreements
- The reverse side of an identity document, as this is usually more than three months old
- Invoices from insurance companies
- Letters from the police, the tax office or other authorities
- Invoices where it is not clear exactly what has been charged for
- Fines
- Anything else that is not a utility bill
